Collection Statement

RSPCA Qld Inc collects personal information primarily for the purposes of accurately recording and profiling information relating to dog bite incidents as a service to the community, and to verify data integrity and remove duplicate records of incidents. Information collected includes:

  1. name and contact details of the person uploading, entering or reporting dog bite incidents;
  2. relevant details of individuals who have been bitten by dogs;
  3. details of the dog responsible for the bite incident;
  4. details of the owner of the dog if available; and
  5. details of the circumstances, including any clinical treatments where relevant, surrounding the dog bite.

The Bite File will be used to establish community education programs, although personally identifiable information will not be disclosed for that purpose. We may also disclose statistical information to relevant government agencies in an effort to find better ways to prevent dog bite incidents through policy and improved legislation. It may also be necessary for our service providers such as IT contractors or web site developers to access your details, if it is relevant or appropriate to achieving our primary purpose of providing a community service.

If you do not accurately provide us with the information we request or consent to the collection of personal information about you, you may not be able to enter the details relevant to dog bites on our web site.
