At RSPCA Qld Inc, we believe that an individual’s right
to privacy is of paramount importance. We are committed to protecting
the personal information we collect, and we are bound by the National

What personal information do we collect, and why?
The information that we collect about you depends on your interaction
with us. For example, we may collect:

reporting dog bite incidents to this website;
(b) relevant details of individuals who have been bitten by dogs;
(c) details of the dog responsible for the bite incident;
(d) details of the owner of the dog if available; and
(e) details of the circumstances, including clinical treatments
where relevant, surrounding the dog bite.
The main purposes for our collection of personal information are
to collate accurate and complete national data on dog bite incidents,
to offer community awareness and educational programs to reduce
the frequency of dog bites, and to lobby all levels of government
to find better ways to prevent dog bite incidents.
How do we collect personal information?
Information may be collected and stored about you if you complete
an online application or other type of form, provide us with your
email address, or access and use our services through our web
site.
When you visit our website it sends a “cookie” to
your computer. A cookie is a small piece of information stored
on your hard drive which tells us your computer has accessed the
web site, but does not identify you unless you have provided us

public authorities, veterinarians, doctors and hospital staff,
where those individuals apply to become users of the web site,

sensitive information relating to dog bite victims, dog owners
or other relevant individuals.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information about you to

whether via our web site, during phone calls, visits to refuges
or from written correspondence, will be retained and used by us
solely for the purpose of conducting our business and providing
related services.
We may disclose de-identified statistical information to relevant
government agencies or the public. Our service providers such
as IT contractors or web site developers may also have access
to your personal details, only if this is necessary to achieving
our primary purpose of providing a community service. From time
to time, we may also be required by law to provide personal information
to law enforcement agencies.

We take all reasonable measures to ensure that your personal information
is stored and secured safely to protect it from misuse, loss,
unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes
using electronic and physical security measures. To protect your
privacy and security of information when viewing areas of this
web site which are protected by password, we ask that you do not
reveal your password to others and do not record the password
on papers indicating your Bite File membership.
We may provide links to third party web sites, but since we do
not control those sites, we encourage you to view the privacy

If you wish to know the personal information we hold about you,
please submit a request for access in writing to the contact details
below. Usually, we will provide you with a photocopy or printout
of the information requested. However, we may charge you a reasonable
fee for providing you with copies of the information, if complying
with your request requires considerable time or expense on our
part.

or incomplete, as accuracy of information is important to us.
Upon receiving your feedback, we will take reasonable steps to
